Buangkok Square Park
Small tube slide, big experience
In a green park in one of Singapore's many residential areas, a playground has been designed which is inspired by a certain type of village with cultural significance. The small colorful play structures therefore look like houses placed on green hills made of poured-in-place rubber surfacing. On one of the small houses, an exit through a tube slide has been designed.
The tube slide is not that long, which makes it suitable for smaller children. It follows the slope of the hill and has a single turn to ensure that the children have an easy ride without too much speed. The slide was chosen in a neutral gray color that allows the yellow and red colors of the houses to stand out.
A tube slide does not have to be a large, eye-catching construction to give children a memorable experience. A smaller slide can equally help to give them a different and fun ride. They still get the feeling of being enclosed and in their own world before they reach the end of the tube slide, giving them a different sensory experience than a regular open slide. The children in Buangkok Square Park can therefore benefit from their small tube slide.
